Purpose :
- To impact on the increasing number of intelligent young people prematurely dropping out of secondary colleges
- To develop and strengthen adolescents protective factors:
- sense of belonging
- significant other
- low family stress - To make a positive impact on a wide range of risk factors affecting adolescents eg. youth suicide, youth homelessness, substance abuse, violence, etc.
- To continually develop successful methods of educating our young people, who are at risk, to be useful and constructive members of society
Program Type : Early Intervention Alternative Program
Students work towards individually negotiated
and team based goals.
Program Length : School Semester
Participants : Twenty ( 20 ) students per intake
Enrolled in State Government Secondary College
Co-educational
Average Age - 14 years 4 months
Attendance : Daily
Average attendance rate since 1994 - 93%
Selection Process : Referred by students’ home college, doctors,
paediatricians, parent / carers.
