Initially, the Individual Challenge involves the students return to their home schools for a period of around six weeks. Efforts are made to make the transition as smooth as possible and liaison staff from each school can monitor a student’s progress through this time.

When this stage is passed successfully, students earn the chance to attend a two day Remembering Program at the Blackwood campus. This is an intensive leadership course where students consolidate their experiences, revisit many of the lessons learned at Blackwood and touch base with the staff.

Following this, students return to their home school for the fourth and final stage, the reintegration into the school community. During this time, students are monitored and also each one has the opportunity to attend Blackwood for a day with permission from their home schools. At all times, the emphasis is on maintaining the ties and relationships formed during the program in order to offer support to the students in their future endeavours.
